MOVIE POSTER RESEARCH: ANCILLARY TASK

I have began looking at movie posters for inspiration for my own poster when I get around to creating it. I have been using the time when I am not filming or working on my short film to research some ideas. I have an idea of what my movie poster should look like and that is to have a head shot of my main character with a split-face image of her before and after image.  I have found some posters which briefly display the look I am going for.

This poster clearly conveys the different sides of the character which is what I am aiming for. Obviously, one of the sides of my character is not an animation and therefore my final product will not look exactly like this.

This poster shows two different characters, but I chose this one just to show an example of the image which I am aiming for.

I chose this one as an example because I thought that the minimal amount of detail worked extremely well and therefore I will take into consideration whether or not to include a lot or minimal detail on my own.

This is my favourite poster out of all of the selection. I think I may choose to follow the idea of this one rather than all of the others.

Beginning our Evaluation and Ancillary tasks.

After completely finishing our film, we have now begun our evaluation questions. We are currently finishing question 1 entitled "In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?" which covers aspects such as how our film uses the conventions of drama (our genre), what our editing means and the style of our film and how we stayed faithful to it.

I have started my poster for the first choice of my ancillary tasks and I have just decided that I am going to be doing a double page spread for my second ancillary task.

WE HAVE FINISHED THE FILMING PROCESS

After several weeks of gathering footage for our short film 'Saviour', we have now managed to complete it on Final Cut Pro and have added several sound effects and transitions. Despite our initial ideas for certain scenes changing, the storyline has remained relatively the same aside from the fact it is a romance, as it is now solely a drama as we cut the scene at the end showing the paramedic and Madison together as we believed it looked amateur. All that is left to do now is to export the project as a movie file and upload it to the areas necessary.

finalised cast list

After being let down on several occasions by characters which we were originally using, due to the fact that they could not make a filming slot or had other plans, we finally decided that I would play the role of the main character because I was always available when needed and also, I had a clear idea of what I wanted the film to look like, so therefore I did not need to be told what to do.

Below are the names of the people featuring in our film:

MADISON
Chloe Ward

BRENDAN
Adam Pluck

VOICE OF MADISON
Bethany D'Inverno

 MAN
Adam Pluck

Below is the mood board which we created on Adobe Photoshop.
Each image represents our main character, Madison, in many ways, for example, her clothes, and things that happen to her within the film.
